Directions for out-of-towners

Pittsburgh is notoriously disorienting whether you live there or are coming from out of town. The abundance of mountains and rivers makes the geography a bizarre set of twists and turns. Street signage is sometimes inadequate, too, so below are directions we hope will make sense. If at any time you get lost or need help getting from one place to another (or are just looking for a nice place to eat), you can call our cell phones (Mark: 814-404-3705; Kristin: 412-400-0305).

To the hotel from the North

I-79 South to I-279 South (signs for I-279 S / Pittsburgh). Follow I-279 South to exit 12 toward US-19/Perrysville Ave. At the end of the ramp, turn left to cross Perrysville Ave and continue on Cemetery Lane. Turn right at Babcock Blvd. Turn left onto the McKnight Road North ramp (to Wexford). Make a left at the Staples store in approximately 1 mile.

To the hotel from the East

Follow I-376 West into Pittsburgh. Take exit 1A for I-279 North toward the Fort Duquesne Bridge/North Shore. Keep following signs for I-279 North and continue to exit 11 - McKnight Road. Keep left on the exit ramp for McKnight Road. Make a left at the 4th light (by the Staples store) about 2.5 miles from the exit.

To the hotel from the South or West

From 79N or 22/30 E (depending on where you're coming from), take I-279 North through Pittsburgh to exit 11 - McKnight Road. Keep left on the exit ramp for McKnight Road. Make a left at the 4th light (by the Staples store), about 2.5 miles from the exit.

To the hotel from the Airport

It is actually a fairly straight shot from the airport, but the highway changes names a few times, which makes giving directions more confusing than it should be. If you've never driven into Pittsburgh before, get ready for the view of the city when you emerge from the Fort Pitt tunnels!

From the airport terminal take PA-60 South toward Pittsburgh. After 7 miles this becomes US-22 East/US-30 South - continue on 22/30 toward Pittsburgh for another 10 miles until the road becomes I-279 North.

I-279 North enters downtown Pittsburgh via the Fort Pitt Tunnels. To stay on I-279 North through Pittsburgh, it helps to keep to the left-most lanes when entering the tunnel. Once you exit the tunnel, watch the signs and stay in the I-279 N lanes as you navigate across several bridges and overpasses. Continue on I-279 N for about 4 more miles to exit 11 - McKnight Road. The exit ramp divides into two lanes - McKnight Road is the left lane. Make a left at the 4th light (by the Staples store), about 2.5 miles from the exit (Directions via Google Maps)

From the hotel back to the airport

This is pretty much like how you got to the hotel from the airport, but backwards. (Directions via Google Maps)
